A lot of time went into the decision to purchase these units. Our first step was to survey our field personnel for what they needed and wanted in an ambulance. Based on this feedback, we looked for units that solved the top concerns of climate control performance and provider ergonomics (i.e. ride quality, headroom, space around stretcher). The Fire Shop wanted improved the serviceability, disc brakes, liquid spring suspension and top quality door and cabinet hardware. Our committee also wanted to increase provider safety in every way possible. In the end, the Horton product answered all these questions the best…..
Our committee is comprised of eight (8) members and works directly under the Executive Officer. Current members of the committee are from a variety of backgrounds and skillsets and include three captains, three lieutenants, and two firefighters.

The MEMORIAL VOL. FIRE COMPANY of Slaughter Beach, DE purchased a Horton ambulance last year from FESCO with Jeff Hill as our salesman. Jeff, as a veteran EMT & life-long fire officer, treated us like family. The best part was that with every technical question asked of him (and there were many), he knew the answers. FESCO and Jeff treated us very professionally and continue to call and email to ask how we are making out. “Fauquier County has 12 stations and over the last five years our fleet has added three new Horton units every two years. Due to operational demands, we were moving units around stations and adding units to our fleet. FESCO was able to make graphics changes and perform preventative maintenance inspections at the same time on three older units, limiting down time of these current operational units. FESCO found a few mechanical and warranty issues during the preventative maintenance inspections and was able to quickly address them, getting our fleet back in service in a timely manner. FESCO was able to process our three new units from the factory during the same time allowing us to get all six units in the field in under two weeks.”

The Francisco Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department recently accepted delivery of a new Horton 603 Ambulance from FESCO Emergency Sales; we are extremely pleased with the service that we received from FESCO. Upon our arrival at the service center, we were greeted warmly by company representatives. As we surveyed the check-off sheets, each area of the truck was explained in detail to assure our comprehension. We met the personnel responsible for the various aspects of our truck. Our sales representative was with us for the entire process, beginning with the original ordering, continuing through the changes and additions, concluding with the delivery. He became familiar enough with our organization to offer suggestions of options that we might need and of others that would not be effective for us.
